Mainframe Programmer reviews, analyzes, and modifies programming systems including encoding, testing, debugging and installing for a large-scale mainframe computer system. Maintains and develops online and batch application programs. Being a Mainframe Programmer develops and implements a disaster recovery plan. Works with project members to develop specifications, diagrams and flowcharts. Additionally, Mainframe Programmer may require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a project leader or manager. Program 3 & 5-axis CNC Mills (HAAS) and Routers (Thermwood). Programming is done both on line and off line using CAD/CAM systems. Performs routine to moderately complex design tasks requiring the operation and application of computer aided design equipment. Performs mathematical calculations and machine operations including feed, speed, and fixture offsets. Must have good communication skills in English, both oral and written. 5 years' experience and knowledge of basic modeling and Cam software, specifically Mastercam and Solidworks as well as machine set up experience. Must have hands on experience in a manufacturing environment. Reading and understanding of commercial blueprints is a must. Three dimensional drawing ability a plus but not required. Ability to use precision measuring devices, such as dial calipers, height gages, etc. Must be able to work from samples, drawings or written specifications. Must be able to lift at least 30 pounds. Must possess a thorough understanding of quality control procedures.Maintain a clean and organized work area.
