Maintenance Planner devises plans and programs for routine preventative maintenance and scheduled turnaround events at a plant or production facility. Accurately defines and estimates required work requests and maintains a consistent tracking system for work orders. Being a Maintenance Planner develops inspection and survey procedures to ensure an effective preventative maintenance system. Works closely with technicians, engineers, operations, and managers to establish a schedule of proactive maintenance activities during appropriate downtime. Additionally, Maintenance Planner utilizes planning and scheduling methods to ensure the most effective and least disruptive maintenance possible. Typically uses a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) for tracking and planning maintenance. Monitors spare parts inventory to ensure availability of required parts. Typically requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent. May require a Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP) certification. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Maintenance Planner work is generally independent and collaborative in nature. Contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project. Maintenance Planner
Biewer Sawmill, Inc. is looking to add a Full Time Maintenance Planner to our
team in Winona, MS. This position will plan, develop, and manage
maintenance activities and special projects. Candidate must be
mechanically inclined and provide support through knowledge of
maintenance and preventive maintenance. This person should be safety-
orientated and perform all job duties in a safe manner. This is a full-time,
hourly position reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor.
Accountabilities
Define the scope of work required by identifying problems and solutions.
Maintain the storeroom with spare parts and supplies at required stock levels.
Assure all maintenance and repair materials are requisitioned and available.
Review and update work orders to include work instructions, safety
procedures, drawings, tools, and materials.
Estimate labor requirements.
Follow up on work completed to confirm successful resolution of problems
and document results.
Requisition of all parts and supplies for maintenance of the facility.
Attend bi-weekly vibration meetings and track the progress of issues with
reporting software.
Gather work orders list and conduct weekly work order planning meetings.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent
Must have experience in mechanical, electrical, computer, hydraulic, and
welding fields.
Must have knowledge and experience in maintenance and preventative
maintenance planning and work order systems.
Solid mechanical aptitude.
Storeroom management.
Good people skills.
Good problem-solving skills
Understand and read blueprints, schematics, and technical information.
Experience and aptitude for using computers and CMMS.
