Maintenance Planner devises plans and programs for routine preventative maintenance and scheduled turnaround events at a plant or production facility. Accurately defines and estimates required work requests and maintains a consistent tracking system for work orders. Being a Maintenance Planner develops inspection and survey procedures to ensure an effective preventative maintenance system. Works closely with technicians, engineers, operations, and managers to establish a schedule of proactive maintenance activities during appropriate downtime. Additionally, Maintenance Planner utilizes planning and scheduling methods to ensure the most effective and least disruptive maintenance possible. Typically uses a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) for tracking and planning maintenance. Monitors spare parts inventory to ensure availability of required parts. Typically requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent. May require a Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP) certification. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Maintenance Planner work is generally independent and collaborative in nature. Contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project. The Planner also is responsible for defining tasks, ordering materials, and developing a detailed field package needed to properly execute the job.
Roles and Responsibilities :
Key Responsibilities
Planning and Estimating
Work with Owner and Discipline Reps to compile work list of all work associated with the job
Build an estimate of the compiled work list
Issue Job Authorization Form to get approval to execute job
Build plan for the total job using established work processes and tools
Coordinate the ordering of long delivery items and track their delivery
Work CRB to ensure proper contractor selection
Develop bids, contracts and purchase orders necessary for contractor services and work at outside shops
Prepare material lists, including consumables, tools rentals, ordered material
Provide planning, resources and material support for developmental work during field execution
Schedule and Cost Tracking
Work with Schedule / Cost Control person to create work orders and ensure it has corrected WO, WBS, etc.
Make sure work orders are in place for routine work that will be executed during the job
Work with Scheduler to develop and optimize a working schedule based on Operations needs
Update Scheduler on job progress with respect to timing and cost
Work Package
Build a Field Work Package per the Major Maintenance process, including blinding, decontamination, and commissioning activities
Assure execution plan includes set up of equipment needed to meet all site HSE requirements and ensure job can be executed safely (i.
E. Trash cans, eye / hand wash stations, smoking pins, lighting for nights, containment for rental equipment, etc.)
Assure all technical instructions (CAIRS, MOC packages, drawings, MSDS, etc.) and procedures are included in the package
Issue package to Coordinator and review job execution details
Prepare closure of work package and file in Major Maintenance folder
Job Preparation and Materials
Assure HSE related equipment is available when job starts (i.E. Trash cans, eye / hand wash stations, smoking pins, lighting for nights, containment for rental equipment)
Track delivery of long lead items and ensure they will arrive on time.
Track equipment repairs at outside shop on to assure repairs will meet cost and delivery targets
Orders material from vendors, stock materials from the warehouse and rental equipment
Sets up storage to receive material for job. (material marshalling)
Order rental equipment
Verify that outside services will be available as planned.
Correct any issues found in BOM or stocked items
Qualifications and Education Requirements :
Education : High School or equivalent; additional technical education or certification in planning or related field preferred
Proven experience in maintenance planning within the refining or petrochemical industry.

Pay Range :
The pay range for this position is $49-$51 per hour; however, the pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
This pay information is being provided pursuant to applicable law and is based in part on market location.

Must have a valid driver s license and current state required minimum vehicle insurance coverage to drive onto Client and Company property.
