Maintenance Planner devises plans and programs for routine preventative maintenance and scheduled turnaround events at a plant or production facility. Accurately defines and estimates required work requests and maintains a consistent tracking system for work orders. Being a Maintenance Planner develops inspection and survey procedures to ensure an effective preventative maintenance system. Works closely with technicians, engineers, operations, and managers to establish a schedule of proactive maintenance activities during appropriate downtime. Additionally, Maintenance Planner utilizes planning and scheduling methods to ensure the most effective and least disruptive maintenance possible. Typically uses a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) for tracking and planning maintenance. Monitors spare parts inventory to ensure availability of required parts. Typically requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent. May require a Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP) certification. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Maintenance Planner work is generally independent and collaborative in nature. Contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project. New Life Staffing is currently looking for a Maintenance Planner for a client we have near the Reading, PA area.
Duties of this role include:
-Being a self-starter with a desire to make continuous improvements to all maintenance tasks and other maintenance activities.
-Establish, maintain, and improve the maintenance planning and scheduling flow process.
-Accountable for day-to-day detailed maintenance planning, repair/replacement of plant equipment, scheduling, cost estimated to maximize mechanical availability, while achieving budgeted targets in a safe, cost effective, and timely manner.
-Additionally, the Maintenance Planner will provide planning support for projects and major maintenance events in each respective area of the facility through planning techniques to effectively control maintenance activities and craft utilization.
-Some travel may be required.
Requirements:
-BS-ME degree or BS Degree in a technical discipline preferred
-5-7 years of progressive relevant work experience in a skilled maintenance role is required
-Required experience in maintaining heavy industrial equipment, preferably in mechanical plant maintenance
-Maintenance planning, scheduling, and supervisory experience is a must
-Six Sigma and Lean training is a plus
-Strong mechanical and some electrical expertise in troubleshooting and problem-solving
-Computer skills are a must, with knowledge of MS Outlook, MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint
-Knowledge of State/Federal EPA and OSHA compliance requirements
-Must have the ability to work effectively with computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) and instruct others on its operation
