Job Summary:

Responsible for ordering and maintaining part inventory to ensure necessary parts are on hand to minimize production downtime and maintenance repair time. In addition to working with vendors and entering purchase orders and other parts transactions, this includes learning systems, developing procedures and training related personnel. They will also responsible for organizing and maintaining the spare parts, including implementation of CMMS program. Responsible for working with department supervisors in coordination planned maintenance and work orders, including issuing and closing tasks in the CMMS system.

Summary of Essential Job Duties:

• Input and maintain CMMS system
• Manage the parts inventory system. This includes entering part transactions and inventory adjustments.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and perform periodic cycle counts.
• Work with maintenance group and venders to ensure necessary parts are on hand while minimizing overall inventory value.
• Work with venders on part quoting and purchasing.
• Help develop and maintain procedures for parts and work order and ensure the plant compliance with these procedures.
• Manage the work order system
• Work with supervisors to schedule preventive maintenance, work order and inspections.
• Responsible for maintenance data collection
• Support the company’s quality improvement efforts by adhering to ISO standards and participating in continuous improvement activities.
• Works with other departments as necessary to support maintenance projects

Knowledge & Skills:

• Working knowledge and experience in Manufacturing environment will be an advantage
• 3-5 years working knowledge and experience in maintenance scheduling and buying
• Experience working with CMMS systems
• Understand blueprints, specifications, manufacturing processes and procedures.
• General understanding of electrical systems and the ability to work safely around low voltage systems. PLC and electrical experience a plus.
• Ability to use/read various measuring devices such as rulers, tape measures, micrometers, & dial calipers
• Exercise independent judgment when inspecting parts acceptability for further operations
• Ability to identify and solve problems.
• Proficient math skills
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Good computer skills and windows navigation
• Good time management skills
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.

Educational/Experience Requirements:

• High School diploma/GED, completion of craft apprenticeship, or equivalent education and experience.
• Some experience in a manufacturing environment required.
• Knowledge of food processing/packaging and/or flexible packaging a plus.
• Experience with ISO Standards preferred.

Physical Demands:

• Ability to climb in overhead structures; work beneath machines and in close quarters.

• Regularly lift, bend, reach, twist and turn.
• Ability to lift up to fifty (50) pounds.

• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. May involve prolonged periods of magnified inspection (eye strain)
• Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm, and hand and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp.
• The job may involve prolonged periods of standing.

Work Environment:

• This position works in a manufacturing environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
• The employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, lubricants and fumes or airborne particles.
• May work at different workstations as production needs require, or shifts from one station to another, during the production process.
