Maintenance Planner, Sr. devises plans and programs for routine preventative maintenance and scheduled turnaround events at a plant or production facility. Accurately defines and estimates required work requests and maintains a consistent tracking system for work orders. Being a Maintenance Planner, Sr. develops inspection and survey procedures to ensure an effective preventative maintenance system. Works closely with technicians, engineers, operations, and managers to establish a schedule of proactive maintenance activities during appropriate downtime. Additionally, Maintenance Planner, Sr. utilizes planning and scheduling methods to ensure the most effective and least disruptive maintenance possible. Typically uses a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) for tracking and planning maintenance. Monitors spare parts inventory to ensure availability of required parts. Typically requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent. May require a Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP) certification. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Maintenance Planner, Sr. work is highly independent. May assume a team lead role for the work group. A specialist on complex technical and business matters. Make adjustments to Master Schedule as directed. Schedules orders for purchasing and production according to Senior Planner. Collaborates with team members or department supervisors to resolve constraints or delays of assigned products or components. Works with Purchasing Team to ensure material and outside service requirements are met, Expedites operations that delay schedules and alters schedules to meet unforeseen conditions or constraints. Communicates updated availability information to Sales and other stakeholder groups. Education and/or Experience: High school diploma and/or GED required. 2-3 years of administration in a manufacturing environment AS degree and 5 years of combination of experience preferred, Experience in packing, kitting, industrial products, or machined assemblies a plus. Knowledge and experience with Continuous Improvement, Six Sigma. Excellent communication and report writing skills; attention to detail. Ability to work well in a cross-functional team environment. Proficiency in ERP Systems, MS Office and Outlook. Physical Demands: No restrictions on wearing required PPE for area, including safety eyewear and steel toed shoes.
