Maintenance Planner, Sr. devises plans and programs for routine preventative maintenance and scheduled turnaround events at a plant or production facility. Accurately defines and estimates required work requests and maintains a consistent tracking system for work orders. Being a Maintenance Planner, Sr. develops inspection and survey procedures to ensure an effective preventative maintenance system. Works closely with technicians, engineers, operations, and managers to establish a schedule of proactive maintenance activities during appropriate downtime. Additionally, Maintenance Planner, Sr. utilizes planning and scheduling methods to ensure the most effective and least disruptive maintenance possible. Typically uses a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) for tracking and planning maintenance. Monitors spare parts inventory to ensure availability of required parts. Typically requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent. May require a Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP) certification. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Industrial Maintenance Planner
Employees qualified for the Industrial Maintenance Planner position are responsible for providing good understanding of maintenance/repair and management of process systems, refrigeration systems, boilers/ auxiliary equipment, compressed air, electrical and control equipment, cooling tower systems, HVAC/ auxiliary equipment, at our Iowa facility. The Maintenance Planner must understand the basic knowledge of how to operate boilers and auxiliary pumping/ conditioning equipment, generators, refrigeration equipment, HVAC, and other plant equipment as directed by supervision/ management. The Maintenance Planner will frequently lead or assist in root cause analysis as well as other lean techniques to determine best course of action to facilitate timely and permanent repairs to electrical, mechanical and, control systems.
This position carries a high degree of accountability as the employee is responsible to operate the CMMS and maintain work schedules, parts, and materials that can impact employee safety, environmental conditions, and production processes while frequently working unaided. The person qualified for this position must have exceptional communication skills and will be self-motivated with a never settle continuous improvement mindset that aligns with our organization’s core values.
Employees selected for the Industrial Maintenance Planner position will be placed on a 60 - 90 working day probationary period to determine skills and receive training in safety, boiler operations, refrigeration operations and SOP’s, power distribution system, process operations, SAP, food safety, forklift, and critical equipment.
