Maintenance Planner, Sr. devises plans and programs for routine preventative maintenance and scheduled turnaround events at a plant or production facility. Accurately defines and estimates required work requests and maintains a consistent tracking system for work orders. Being a Maintenance Planner, Sr. develops inspection and survey procedures to ensure an effective preventative maintenance system. Works closely with technicians, engineers, operations, and managers to establish a schedule of proactive maintenance activities during appropriate downtime. Additionally, Maintenance Planner, Sr. utilizes planning and scheduling methods to ensure the most effective and least disruptive maintenance possible. Typically uses a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) for tracking and planning maintenance. Monitors spare parts inventory to ensure availability of required parts. Typically requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent. May require a Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP) certification. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Reporting to the Manager, Production Control & Planning, the Maintenance Package Planner ensures that all aircraft maintenance packages are complete so as to enable the Production Control Supervisor to lay-out the job boards efficiently and allow for effective and timely maintenance execution and aircraft re-delivery.
This job requires extensive research of OEM maintenance documentation mostly held online and in work packages. Ensure that all the necessary Task Cards are included in order to undertake the job in accordance with the Workscope.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:
EDUCATION: High School Diploma/GED or OJT. Preferably has a degree in Aviation Management and/or has Held a mechanic certificate with both Airframe and Powerplant for commercial aircraft.
EXPERIENCE: Has had recent production planning experience for at least 3 years. Has had diversified maintenance experience on large aircraft with an Air Carrier, Commercial Operator or Certified Repair Station.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
Extensive familiarity with MPDs, technical procedural and schematic OEM maintenance documentation.
Proficient Computer user with working knowledge of online research and usage of OEM portals.
Good written and oral communication skills in order to effectively interact with all levels of staff from different departments effectively.
Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills with a good understanding of where to find relevant information.
