Maintenance Planner, Sr. devises plans and programs for routine preventative maintenance and scheduled turnaround events at a plant or production facility. Accurately defines and estimates required work requests and maintains a consistent tracking system for work orders. Being a Maintenance Planner, Sr. develops inspection and survey procedures to ensure an effective preventative maintenance system. Works closely with technicians, engineers, operations, and managers to establish a schedule of proactive maintenance activities during appropriate downtime. Additionally, Maintenance Planner, Sr. utilizes planning and scheduling methods to ensure the most effective and least disruptive maintenance possible. Typically uses a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) for tracking and planning maintenance. Monitors spare parts inventory to ensure availability of required parts. Typically requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent. May require a Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP) certification. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Modern Polymers Inc. is seeking a Maintenance planner/scheduler to develop the schedule for the maintenance technicians who are responsible for the repair of production equipment, support systems, and building maintenance needs.
Responsibilities:
· Oversees the Preventive Maintenance Program including the schedule, work instructions, and documentation for the facility and equipment.
· Enter data into LIMBLE ( PM Tracking System )
· Maintain an adequate inventory of critical spare parts and supply items.
· Coordinate service contractors for inspection and service of vital equipment
· Develop the plan for Shut Down maintenance repairs and inspections
· Coordinate maintenance activities with operations.
· Manage the planning and preparation of training and orientation for new maintenance team members.
· Order emergency parts, services, and / or equipment.
· Manage and communicate the calendar for the Maintenance Department.
Duties/Responsibilities:
· Evaluates systems or facilities to determine maintenance or repairs that need to be performed.
· Works with maintenance manager to plan work priorities, obtain necessary supplies, and assess skills needed to complete tasks.
· Assesses building systems to plan work assignments.
· Collaborates with team members to discuss upcoming work assignments; delegates assignments based on team members’ skills and experience.
· Tracks and logs workers’ time, materials, and other resources used for inventory purposes.
· Performs other related duties as assigned.
· Manage maintenance tech time in payroll / timekeeping system.
Required Skills/Abilities:
· Basic knowledge of building systems such as plumbing, electrical, and HVAC
· Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
· Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate them when appropriate.
· Ability to identify issues and determine repairs that are needed.
· Project management experience
· Ability to plan maintenance schedules for operating/production equipment.
· Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
· Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software as needed to complete reports, logs, and inventory.
