Maintenance Planner, Sr. jobs in Somerset, NJ

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for Operability of systems/installations to be maintained
• Respon sible for proper work preparation for day-to-day maintenance, shut downs, project activities
• Responsible for scheduling the maintenance works through alignment and consultation withOperations and involved disciplines and resources
• Responsible for updating SAP data (functional location, asset structure, equipment, maintenance plans, BOMs, documentation) with the help of the maintenance manager and reliability engineer
• Creates task list for individual maintenance plans
• Updates data in SAP and makes sure that the feedback from technicians/contractors and/or data available are properly used
• Ensures proper document management/updates for maintenance activities.
• Ensures and drives a high HSE-performance in all activities
• Key area of responsibility of this function is for Plant Operability in LV and MV.
• Understands available on hand resources and requests additional resources when needed based on workload or project activities. Aligns the need for additional resources with Maintenance and Production managers
• Defines the need for overtime based on urgent/emergency work and aligns with maintenance and production managers
• Prepares the day-to-day resource planning to execute the schedule agreed in the weekly planning meeting and adjusts based on reprioritization due to emergency maintenance events
• Coordinates emergency(Priority 0) directly with Operations Supervisor and does work preparations as needed
• Uses fill in work for technicians to reduce non-productive time
• Distributes the work to technicians, provides technical support as needed and collects feedback at the end of the day
• Confirms the mechanical completion of relevant repairs with production via Operations Supervisor
• Close out work orders in SAP and create follow up work orders as needed based on findings from PM’s and events throughout the day
• Schedules Preventative Maintenance (PM) and Predictive Maintenance (PdM) work for timely execution and schedules any resulting follow up work orders
• Coordinates and supervises contractors on site for PM/PdM and corrective maintenance
• Prepares and maintains monthly on call calendar for technicians taking into account the skills and competencies of the employees
• Assists with emergency repairs as needed based on resource demand.
• Ensures cost efficient and safe execution for planned maintenance activities in day-to-day maintenance, shut downs, projects of own work as well as with contractors.
• Responsible for planning and coordination and partly execution of capital investment projects for Plant Operability
• Creates a purchase request for quotation / purchase for materials (if not managed via MRP process) and/or external services
• Responsible of workorder process for external contractor management
• Evaluation of executed jobs
• Updates continuously the standard task lists in SAP to ensure that accurate plans exist for recurring jobs and efficiencies from the execution are captured
• Contributes in the acceptance process of the executed work (technical compliance check of the scope or/and approval of the invoicing in line with the authorization level)
• Maintenance set-up and detailed execution thereof
• Equipment and consumable ordering aligned with approved spending level
• Provide instructions for maintenance need
• Offer input on technical solutions for maintenance or inspection setup to internal key-customers
• Acceptance and approval of services (works) of external companies within his/her authority of approval
• Works closely with Maintenance Manager, Process Engineer, Reliability engineer and Production Manager
• Participates in networking and cross functional team work
• Contribute to a positive work environment
• Decisions that have to be made at a higher level:
• Release of work orders based on total planned cost according to authorization matrix
• Resource and invest budget planning, checking and approvals
• Acceptance and approval of services (works) of external companies not within his/her authority of Approval
• Main key customer is Production (approx. 80%) and 20% other departments (QC, Logistics, etc.)
• Represents department in a professional manner to internal and external customers
• Builds a good relationship and ensures good communication with Production Department
• Has regular contacts to understand the content of the problem/task and to provide an appropriate approach to solve the problem
• Participates in the weekly planning meetings
• Maintain good relations with Production/QC/Logistics/HSE colleagues, contractors and Procurement
• Works closely with Maintenance Manager, Process Engineer, Reliability engineer and Production Manager
• Participates in networking and cross functional team work
• External companies (Acceptance of services/works from external companies in line with the authorization level)

Requirements:

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
• Thorough knowledge E&I or Mechanics depending on the discipline
• Ideally > 3 years of industrial maintenance and/or engineering experience
• Good knowledge of SAP or other maintenance software a plus
• Microsoft office programs (Word, Excel, etc.)
• Ability to work within a team environment
• Good communication and coordination skills (internal customer support)
• Service oriented
