Maintenance Planner, Sr. devises plans and programs for routine preventative maintenance and scheduled turnaround events at a plant or production facility. Accurately defines and estimates required work requests and maintains a consistent tracking system for work orders. Being a Maintenance Planner, Sr. develops inspection and survey procedures to ensure an effective preventative maintenance system. Works closely with technicians, engineers, operations, and managers to establish a schedule of proactive maintenance activities during appropriate downtime. Additionally, Maintenance Planner, Sr. utilizes planning and scheduling methods to ensure the most effective and least disruptive maintenance possible. Typically uses a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) for tracking and planning maintenance. Monitors spare parts inventory to ensure availability of required parts. Typically requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent. May require a Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP) certification. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Responsibilities
The ability to provide services required for timely maintenance and economical repair of all plant equipment. Plan, estimate, and schedule all plant maintenance work at our Kettle Falls, WA Lumber Facility. Manage, monitor, and analyze computerized maintenance management system (MAXIMO). The capacity to work with lumber staff to maintain equipment service records, downtime, and repair records. Identify safety needs, staffing needs, materials and special equipment or tools to execute maintenance work.
This position is responsible for maintenance planning, maintenance scheduling, predictive maintenance, and maintenance record keeping. Coordinate all maintenance shutdown activities and maintenance/engineering-related contractors. Schedule daily, weekly, and maintenance shutdowns in coordination with operations. Familiar with all equipment, its operating function and repair needs, and maintains its records for future reference. Develop and use standards and data for estimating planned work and compares to actual time/cost for effective utilization of resources. Determine root cause of unscheduled downtime and make recommendations to minimize or reduce downtime. Perform tasks required to update prints, procedures, planning packages, and/or preventive maintenance plans.

Qualifications
Basic Qualifications: B.S. degree in Engineering, Science or related field preferred. Must have a minimum of five years' experience and maintenance skills in a manufacturing environment. Prior preventive maintenance experience preferred. Must have excellent communication skills and experience with employee involvement activities; demonstrated excellent organizational skills, including attention to detail and follow-up procedures; strong leadership qualities and a focus on safety; a strong desire to coach and facilitate change through continuous improvement in a team environment.
