The Maintenance Supervisor is a hands-on leader who oversees and directs the activities of maintenance technicians engaged in repair, maintenance, and installation of machines, tools, and industrial manufacturing equipment. This role is responsible for providing daily leadership, ensuring safe work practices, and collaborating on procedures to maximize efficiency of maintenance processes and personnel. The supervisor also performs inventory of maintenance parts & supplies and interacts with suppliers and internal department personnel.
The incumbent is expected to be a self-starter, a strong time manager, able to work independently and collaboratively.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise a maintenance team across all shifts.
- Collaborate on developing and implementing maintenance plans to ensure proper scheduling of work, effective utilization of labor, minimization of work backlog, and PM compliance.
- Monitor operation of plant equipment and systems to minimize unplanned downtime, anticipate and solve problems in a timely manner.
- Serve as a technical resource to the team and collaborate with operations regarding engineering solutions, equipment improvements, and emergency repairs.
- Proficient in reading schematics to troubleshoot hydraulic/pneumatic and electrical issues.
- Assist in managing maintenance costs, including labor costs, parts, and outside services for repairs.
- May serve as backup for setting up, removing and storing production molds in accordance with documented procedures. (Remove "Serve as backup" from other bullet points as well)
- Develop and promote systems and a culture that strives for world class maintenance, including preventative and predictive maintenance, clean and organized work areas, and improved equipment reliability.
- Coordinate contractor work on site as it pertains to production equipment and facility repairs.
- Manage and review standard operating procedures and work instructions related to maintenance.
- Collaborate on requesting capital expenditure requests for maintenance-based projects.
- Function as a maintenance point of contact for management of change approval on new and modified equipment.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory affairs if required (e.g., FDA, OSHA, SQF mechanical integrity and process hazards analysis (PHA)).
- Promote a safe work environment by ensuring adherence to all safety and ISO programs and procedures.
- Interface and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure efficient working relationships.
- Foster a culture of safety, quality, and environmental stewardship.
- Uphold and maintain organizational values and standards.
Qualifications
- Associate degree in a technical field; or three to five years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Supervisor experience is required.
- Proficient in Microsoft applications and maintenance planning systems.
Additional Skills and Experience (can be moved to a separate section)
- Experience monitoring and maintaining low pressure boilers, air compressors, air dryers, and vacuum pumps.
- Experience repairing and maintaining forklifts

Pay: $28.00 - $31.00 per hour
