The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for daily supervision of maintenance personnel, efficient and effective maintenance of production, machinery, equipment, physical plant, utilities, and grounds in accordance with state and federal regulations, company policies, including policies related to food safety and procedures.
Open shift is for Monday through Friday 3AM – 11AM.
Primary Responsibilities
- Assure that daily preventive maintenance program is followed to maintain production machinery and equipment in proper working conditions.
- Plan, schedule, and coordinate maintenance activities through the use of CMMS system.
- Supervise and coordinate activities of workers engaged in the maintenance, electrical and mechanical operations.
- Ensure proper maintenance and safety procedures are being followed and conduct audits.
- Constant interaction and participation with maintenance personnel, especially in breakdown situations.
- Ensure proper information is given to order and maintain maintenance materials, supplies spare parts and repair parts.
- Ensure that all documentation is filled out properly and in their entirety.
- Provide staff training in maintenance of all related equipment and services.
- Work with outside vendors on projects or repairs.
- Make necessary corrections and running adjustments to maintain maximum production and quality.
- Review production schedule and changes over equipment to new sizes or performs preventative maintenance.
- Review downtime with production supervisors for accurate reporting of equipment failures.
- Assist with root cause analysis and implementation of correct actions.
- Ensure a disciplined and safe work effort.
- Participate in the development of policies and procedures related to maintenance and safety.
- Fifty percent of daily work schedule must be spent on the floor interacting with maintenance employees and Production Supervisors while evaluating equipment, safe work practices, and potential improvements.
- Responsible for daily supervision of maintenance personnel on shift.
Qualifications
- Prior maintenance leadership/supervisory experience.
- Complete knowledge of all electrical and mechanical equipment and functions.
- Ability to keep everything operating to produce in a safe manner.
- High School graduate plus training courses or technical school background.
Working Conditions/Environment
Works in an office and manufacturing environment where the employee is regularly required to speak, read, sit, stand, walk, and bend while moving about the facility. The employee is occasionally exposed to heat, fumes, odors, dust, oil, slippery floors, moving parts/equipment and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the office is moderate and loud in the plant. Earplugs and hairnets are required in the plant in accordance with company GMP and safety standards.
