Plus opportunity for overtime Shift Differential from 12:00pm - 8:30pm = $2.00/hr. SIGN ON Bonus: $2500 if hire date is between January – March 2024 SCHEDULE: Monday - Friday 8 hour shifts with occasional weekends- 9:00am – 5:30pm and/or 10:00am – 6:30pm with occasional rotations depending on business needs Shift will revert back to 2:00pm - 10:30pm in the Spring when volumes are higher *These shifts are all subject to change depending on business needs OUR MISSION: At Wicked Weed Portsmouth, we Craft for Better to create moments that unite people and enrich communities. ROLE SUMMARY: As an important member of the Wicked Weed Portsmouth Team, the Lead Maintenance Technician will perform advanced systematic troubleshooting of mechanical problems and proactively maintain equipment related to the brewing and packaging process as well as conducting general facility maintenance. JOB DESCRIPTION: Moderate knowledge of all brewing, cellaring, filtration, and packaging processes Understands electrical power distribution and isolation Ability to read blueprints, mechanical drawings, electrical/control schematics, specifications, codes, electrical formulas, handbooks, and P&IDs (piping and instrumentation diagrams) Proficient at performing oil changes and top offs on process and utility equipment Ability to troubleshoot and repair all minor mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic problems with minimal assistance. Ability to utilize all math skills, such as basic math, geometry and algebra to complete necessary job tasks. Ability to make decisions and solve problems. Be able to communicate effectively with management and peers. Advanced knowledge of electrical power distribution Maintain knowledge of new technology and electrical standards Troubleshooting and calibrating AC & DC drives Troubleshooting and networking PLC programming Troubleshooting ladder and PLC logic Mechanical skill and experience with gearboxes, high-speed conveyors, bearings, mechanical seals, timing systems, pumps, hydraulics, pneumatics. Must be willing to work a flexible schedule and remain on call when necessary, including all shifts and nights. Ability to identify types of PLCs and describe the differences Basic knowledge of National Electric Code Ability to work cross-functionally and lead projects/initiatives Ability to make technical critical decisions and articulate issues to management Ability to proactively identify and act on maintenance related needs throughout the brewery Basic computer skills including using the internet and using MS Office software. Follow all safety and policy processes throughout the brewery, including sanitary processes for food processing and HACCP Train employees on company lubrication program, sanitary processes, and proper techniques for checking fuses and breakers Coach or mentor employees on maintenance related troubleshooting Maintains and repairs of all production systems and equipment which include but not limited to pumps, heat exchangers, chillers, boilers, air compressors, conveyors, packaging and process systems, and waste water systems. Performs local and loop calibration on various instruments, including but not limited to pressure, temperature, flow, conductivity. Calibrates and alters machines according to manufacturer specifications. Documents work and calibrations using CMMS. Participates in and helps inspectors perform all annual inspections such as boilers, ASME vessels, backflow preventers, etc. Observe equipment in operation to prevent/diagnose potential problems and recommend areas to improve efficiency Performs daily troubleshooting of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), as well as perform small scale upgrades to current software Organize and prioritize work; update the teams weekly with progress reports and action plans. Utilize AMMS to create and close work orders as well as add inventory to work orders and perform cycle counts Utilize Acadia for Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) creation Lead and support initiatives within the brewery such as HACCP, and other quality or safety programs Train operators on Operator based maintenance (OBMs) Systematically troubleshoot mechanical & electrical issues Reseal/Rebuild pumps, valves, gear boxes, can/bottle lines, and filler valves as well as basic overhauls Proactively performs pre-integrity testing on filters, manage spare part inventory, and checks on low voltage fuses and breakers Owns territorial safety for the maintenance department Lead, oversee, and manage specific brewery projects as assigned Support the Maintenance Manager by managing the team when needed On the floor leadership responsibility of the maintenance team Assign work orders to maintenance team and following up on progress and completion Participate in one onsite committee, at minimum Additional duties may be assigned as necessary. JOB QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or GED required; Associates degree in an industry-related science preferred. Journeyman electrician certification is preferred 7 years maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment required Leadership experience preferred CMMS experience preferred (MP2). AMMS experience preferred The use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) will be required in production areas Ability to handle heavy objects safely and with proper body mechanics – Lift and move objects weighing up to 50 lbs. Ability to perform work in a non-temperature-controlled environment. Ability to frequently lift and/or move objects weighing up to 55 lbs. and occasionally lift and/or move up to 160 lbs. with assistance. Ability to be on your feet for long periods of time standing and/or walking. Walking surfaces may be wet and/or slippery. Ability to frequently sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and climb. Ability to frequently talk, hear, and smell. Ability to frequently reach with hands and arms; use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and the ability to adjust focus.
