Oversees the identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of major and planned gift donors and prospective donors for Trinity University. As a primary front-line fundraiser, manages relationships with a portfolio of 120-150 households in order to meet annual performance metrics. Travels extensively for the university to conduct face-to-face visits both in and out of state.* Secures funds for Trinity University by qualifying, cultivating and soliciting alumni, parents and friends, typically through in and out of state personal visits and special events.
* Manages a portfolio of 120-150 assigned prospective donors using moves management best practices. Develops and implements solicitation strategies for assigned prospects, with a goal of securing five to eight figure gifts, coordinating with the principal gifts team, as needed.
* Writes and records contact notes from meaningful interactions with constituents noting next steps and follow up action items.
* Establishes effective relationships with university leaders and key faculty in assigned departments to leverage their relationships with donor prospects to secure university funding.
* Conducts quarterly portfolio reviews to update donor stage, reviews proposal status, creates prospect strategy, and creates stewardship plans for assigned prospects.
* Assists other alumni relations and development departments to support key initiatives such as, 1869 Challenge, end of fiscal and calendar year solicitations, Alumni Weekend, etc.

* Complies with all Trinity University policies and guidelines.

EDUCATION
Required: Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
Preferred: Master's degree from an accredited institution.
EXPERIENCE
Required: Five years of non-profit fundraising, corporate/high-level sales, higher education gift funding or related experience.
Preferred: Seven years of major and planned gifts experience in higher education or nonprofit fundraising.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Required:
Working knowledge of best practices for relationship-building with donors or clients.
Demonstrated history of meeting annual fundraising or sales goals and working in metrics based, measurable performance environments.
Working knowledge of and software platforms including Microsoft Office and Google Drive.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Computer literate with knowledge & ability with word processing equipment & familiarity with data entry and retrieval.
Ability to communicate effectively in English with sound knowledge of spelling, punctuation & grammar.
