    JOB SUMMARY
    The Major Gifts Officer is responsible for overseeing and executing our major gifts and donations efforts. This person will assist the CEO to achieve established financial goals and execute the mission of MLFA.
    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
    The following reflects the essential duties for this job but does not restrict the tasks that may be assigned.     • Develop and implement a successful strategy for the solicitation of major gifts
    • Responsible for cultivating relationships with donors
    • Identify potential donors and contact them regularly to inform them of opportunities to support the organization’s mission
    • Acknowledge major gifts and donations in a timely manner
    • Assist with creating marketing material and donor communications
    • Work closely with the Executive team and program staff to attain organizational goals
    • Maintain donor database
    • Create reports and presentations
    • Support the CEO with operational tasks as requested
    • Ensure work duties are being performed in accordance with safety and security policies and applicable state and federal regulations
    • Represent MLFA’s mission and values on a daily basis

    EXPERIENCE – EDUCATION

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Public Administration preferred
    • Minimum of 4 years of fundraising and major gifts solicitation experience
    • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a non-profit preferred
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office

    WORK ENVIRONMENT

    • Indoor office setting with occasional outdoor exposure
    • Frequent use of computer, keyboard, and mouse
    • Moderate noise levels
    • Occasional travel (less than 20% of the time)
