Full-time Major Gift Officer with Philanthropy Oversight
JOB SUMMARY: Reporting to the Executive Director, Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Central Blue Ridge (BBBSCBR) is seeking a driven and mission-oriented Full-time Major Gift Officer with Philanthropy Oversight.
The Major Gift Officer will spend at least 50% of their time meeting with prospective donors. There will be a minimum of 20 grants submitted annually (most of these are renewals and more relationship-based; grant frameworks are provided from historical files). The Major Gift Officer will oversee team member responsible for event logistics, sponsorships, and donor database management. The Major Gift Officer will implement a Fund Development Plan that is philanthropy-driven while building strong and enduring relationships that result in increased revenue for Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Central Blue Ridge. An ideal candidate will have experience cultivating relationships, making major gift requests, and stewarding donors. They will be able to create proposals and to write concisely and compellingly about the mission and programs of the agency.
