Major Gifts Manager manages and implements a philanthropic gift program to nurture and solicit relationships with corporate, institutional, and major donors. Develops a portfolio of existing and potential donors and a strategy to enhance and extend relationships to generate philanthropic revenue. Being a Major Gifts Manager organizes events and meetings with prospects to raise awareness of the organization's mission and highlight accomplishments and ongoing funding needs. Makes regular personal contact with key contributors to strengthen relations with the organization. Additionally, Major Gifts Manager oversees proposal preparation and ensures compliance with regulatory requirements. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Major Gifts Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Head of Major Gifts and Partnerships
General Purpose Statement
The Aspen Art Museum seeks a strategic, methodic, externally-focused Head of Major Gifts and Partnerships. This individual will identify, build, cultivate, solicit, and steward a portfolio of existing and high-potential prospects, both individuals and organizations, to support the mission of the Aspen Art Museum.
This position will require the application of core development principles: prospect identification, formulation of effective stewardship and solicitation strategies, and a keen focus on aligning donors with institutional priorities.
Reporting to the Chief Development Officer, and working closely with the office of the Nancy & Bob Magoon Director, the Head of Major Gifts and Partnerships will provide support to the Executive team, Board members, and other stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in fundraising and project management, as well as a passion for the arts and the mission of the Aspen Art Museum.

The salary for this position is $100,000 to $130,000 annually depending on experience, performance, and housing assistance. The Aspen Art Museum offers a competitive package of benefits.
