Major Gifts Manager jobs in Canton, OH
Major Gifts Manager manages and implements a philanthropic gift program to nurture and solicit relationships with corporate, institutional, and major donors. Develops a portfolio of existing and potential donors and a strategy to enhance and extend relationships to generate philanthropic revenue. Being a Major Gifts Manager organizes events and meetings with prospects to raise awareness of the organization's mission and highlight accomplishments and ongoing funding needs. Makes regular personal contact with key contributors to strengthen relations with the organization. Additionally, Major Gifts Manager oversees proposal preparation and ensures compliance with regulatory requirements. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Major Gifts Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Major Gifts Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1-3 years supervisory experience may be required. What you’ll be doing
- Assist the manager in entering purchase orders.
- Assist with inventory counts
- Reorder top-selling merchandise
- Work with vendors to rectify damaged merchandise / shorted items / back orders / improper pricing
- Read reports and make price changes as needed
- Assist customers with their needs in a friendly manner
- Completing sales transactions
Skills you’ll bring along
- Must be available to work on-site
- Read and comprehend instructions
- Attention to detail
- Amenable to working all areas of the gift shop based on business needs
- Vendor experience preferred
- Cash register experience preferred
- Previous experience a plus
Job Type
- 30 - 40 hours a week
- Full-time of Part-time position
- Work hours Work rotating schedules including some evenings, weekends and holidays
