Major Gifts Manager manages and implements a philanthropic gift program to nurture and solicit relationships with corporate, institutional, and major donors. Develops a portfolio of existing and potential donors and a strategy to enhance and extend relationships to generate philanthropic revenue. Being a Major Gifts Manager organizes events and meetings with prospects to raise awareness of the organization's mission and highlight accomplishments and ongoing funding needs. Makes regular personal contact with key contributors to strengthen relations with the organization. Additionally, Major Gifts Manager oversees proposal preparation and ensures compliance with regulatory requirements. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Major Gifts Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Overview
The Major Gifts Officer is a full time position within Scheck Hillel’s development team. This individual manages a portfolio of mid-level to major-level donors giving in the $3,600 - $18,000 range. The Major Gifts Officer leads the implementation of the major gifts plan and provides the development team with the necessary support to carry out this plan.
The Major Gifts Officer is a critical member of the team who partners with the admissions team, development team, board and development committee to identify, help cultivate and solicit prospective donors currently giving below $3,600 or prospects with capacity who are new or are not currently supporting Scheck Hillel.
