The Major Gift Officer along with the support of the Fund Development and Campaign Leadership committee, is responsible for overall execution of the multi-million-dollar vision over the next five years to support the programs of Habitat for Humanity Grand Traverse Region. The Major Gift Officer oversees the annual fund campaign including sponsorship solicitation, signature events, donor relations, grant applications and other fund-raising efforts.
Applicants must be results-oriented and committed to our goal of increasing our homebuilding and home repair capacity. Ability to communicate our mission, goals, and successes to a wide range of potential donors and strong interpersonal skills are required.
Reporting directly to the CEO, the Major Gift Officer will work with the Fund Development Committee to steer an established fundraising program that builds donor relationships through effective discovery, cultivation, and stewardship activities. The Major Gift Officer is supported by an accomplished communications and community engagement team to reach development goals. The Major Gift Officer is responsible to solicit major and planned gifts as well as manage a grant program.
Key position responsibilities
* Lead comprehensive fundraising and donor appreciation plans to meet the short- and long-term needs of the organization.
* Secure gift commitments of $5,000 through face-to-face solicitations and written foundation proposals.
* Provides staff support to the Campaign Leadership Committee and other board committees as assigned by the CEO.
