Major Gifts Manager manages and implements a philanthropic gift program to nurture and solicit relationships with corporate, institutional, and major donors. Develops a portfolio of existing and potential donors and a strategy to enhance and extend relationships to generate philanthropic revenue. Being a Major Gifts Manager organizes events and meetings with prospects to raise awareness of the organization's mission and highlight accomplishments and ongoing funding needs. Makes regular personal contact with key contributors to strengthen relations with the organization. Additionally, Major Gifts Manager oversees proposal preparation and ensures compliance with regulatory requirements. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Major Gifts Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Job Title: Major Gift Officer
Position Summary:
The Center is launching new, exciting programs, including new commissions, capital improvements, a wider variety of artistic programming, and more. To support these endeavors, the Development Department is preparing a capital campaign. At this exciting moment in the Center’s history, the Center is seeking an energetic and outgoing individual for the position of Major Gifts Officer.
The Major Gifts Officer is a new position within the Segerstrom Center for the Arts 20-person Development Department, contributing to an overall goal of $14M annually and an upcoming capital campaign. The position reports to the Associate Vice President of Development and is responsible for developing relationships with a core group of prospective donors with capacity for major gifts of $25K . This position is a frequent collaborator with the Development Department staff and other Center administrative departments. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with strong organizational and interpersonal skills. This is a full-time, exempt position.
