Being a Mammography Technologist creates and maintains patient records and files according to required procedure. Cleans and adjusts equipment as needed. Additionally, Mammography Technologist requires an associate degree or completion of a formal radiologic technology training program. Typically reports to a chief technologist or manager. Position Title: Mammography Technologist

Summary:
Mammography Technologist performs medical mammograms and radiographic examinations in order to diagnose disease or trauma. The technologist is responsible for programming the machine for correct density, contrast, definition, magnification and distortion. The digital image will then be processed and presented to the mammography interpreting physician to diagnose problem areas. Ensures that images and records are properly completed with patient identification data and appropriate labeling. Use strong technical knowledge and skills to perform procedures accurately and in a timely manner, complete exam charges and image documentation and forward to radiologists.
