Mammography Technologist operates specialized X-ray equipment and performs various mammography related procedures including screenings and diagnostic studies. Develops and evaluates the film for technical quality such as density contrast, definition, and distortion. Being a Mammography Technologist creates and maintains patient records and files according to required procedure. Cleans and adjusts equipment as needed. Additionally, Mammography Technologist requires an associate degree or completion of a formal radiologic technology training program. Typically reports to a chief technologist or manager. Requires American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT)Diagnostic Mammography. Mammography Technologist's years of experience requirement may be unspecified.     90% FTE, day shift. Monday - Friday 7:00AM - 5:00PM. Rotation between Mammography and Bone Mineral Density at University Hospital. Some rotations to screening mammography sites at outlying clinics. Hours may vary based on the operational needs of the department.

    We are seeking a Radiologic Technologist - Mammography to:

    • Perform a wide variety of routine, complex and specialized procedures under the general supervision of the section Team Lead and Radiology Manager.
    • Provide basic maintenance and repairs, participate in QA, and resolve issues related to image processing and the image archiving system.
    • Work collaboratively with staff to prioritize and organize schedules and to triage routine and emergent procedures.
    • Coordinate and actively participate in the training of other Imaging technologists, fellows, residents, physicians and visiting health care professionals and serve as a clinical instructor for affiliated imaging training programs and assist in training other Imaging technologists.

    Education:

    Minimum - Graduate of a School of Radiologic Technology.

    Preferred - Bachelor's degree in relevant field.

    Work Experience:

    Minimum - Previous healthcare experience.

    Preferred - Two (2) years of clinical experience.

    Licenses and Certifications:

    Minimum - Certification by appropriate body (ARRT) and valid Wisconsin Radiological License. CPR certification required within 3 months of hire. Mammography certification within 30 months.

    Preferred - Mammography certification.
