Mammography Technologist operates specialized X-ray equipment and performs various mammography related procedures including screenings and diagnostic studies. Develops and evaluates the film for technical quality such as density contrast, definition, and distortion. Being a Mammography Technologist creates and maintains patient records and files according to required procedure. Cleans and adjusts equipment as needed. Additionally, Mammography Technologist requires an associate degree or completion of a formal radiologic technology training program. Typically reports to a chief technologist or manager. Requires American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT)Diagnostic Mammography. Mammography Technologist's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: High school graduate or GED equivalent. Graduate of an approved X-Ray Technician training program with five (5) or more years’ x-ray technician work experience. Consideration will be given for any equivalent combination of experience, education or training that provides the level of knowledge, skills and ability required.
CERTIFICATION, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: ARRT or AMA Certification; CPR Certification; Valid driver's license. Possess and maintain auto liability insurance.
