Mammography Technologist jobs in Poughkeepsie, NY
Mammography Technologist operates specialized X-ray equipment and performs various mammography related procedures including screenings and diagnostic studies. Develops and evaluates the film for technical quality such as density contrast, definition, and distortion. Being a Mammography Technologist creates and maintains patient records and files according to required procedure. Cleans and adjusts equipment as needed. Additionally, Mammography Technologist requires an associate degree or completion of a formal radiologic technology training program. Typically reports to a chief technologist or manager. Requires American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT)Diagnostic Mammography. Mammography Technologist's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. Education:
- Graduate of AMA approved school of Radiologic Technology program.
Experience:
- Preferred of one year technical experience. Preferred one year of mammography experience.
Training/License:
- Registered by the A.R.R.T. in Radiologic Technology and Mammography.
- Valid New York State Radiographic license from the Department of Health.
Other:
- ARRT(M) certification is mandated by ACR accreditation.
- Mammography Registry (AART [M]) will be obtaining within one year of hire date.
- Employees must comply with ACR regulations on certification.
