Mammography Technologist jobs in Spokane, WA
Mammography Technologist operates specialized X-ray equipment and performs various mammography related procedures including screenings and diagnostic studies. Develops and evaluates the film for technical quality such as density contrast, definition, and distortion. Being a Mammography Technologist creates and maintains patient records and files according to required procedure. Cleans and adjusts equipment as needed. Additionally, Mammography Technologist requires an associate degree or completion of a formal radiologic technology training program. Typically reports to a chief technologist or manager. Requires American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT)Diagnostic Mammography. Mammography Technologist's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. Responsibilities
- Under the supervision of the Radiologist, and Director of Imaging, performs all routine diagnostic and therapeutic mammography procedures, provides quality control measures, and produces quality images while applying both radiation and physical safety measures.
- Collects Pertinent Data and Document Procedures
- Performs Digital Mammography
- Assist Physicians with Procedures
- Performs quality control to state and government regulations
Requirements
- Certification and current registration for Registered Technologist (RT) from American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
- Must obtain registration for Mammography (M) from ARRT within one year of hire
- Must have BLS certification
