Managed Care Coordinator coordinates utilization reviews of managed care contracts using established guidelines and processes. Ensures all clinical operations comply with Medicare and Medicaid guidelines and other managed care policies. Being a Managed Care Coordinator communicates with physicians, discharge planners and others to process referrals, authorization for services, and capture data related to utilization. Maintains managed care contracts and information databases and prepares reports. Additionally, Managed Care Coordinator typically requires an associate degree in nursing. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Typically requires Registered Nurse (RN). The Managed Care Coordinator has gained full proficiency in a broad range of activities related to the job. Independently performs a wide range of complex duties under general guidance from supervisors. To be a Managed Care Coordinator typically requires 5-7 years of related experience.     Position Summary: The primary purpose of your job position is to assist in the administration of medications to residents as ordered by the attending physician, under the direction of the attending physician, your supervisor, and your administrator. The administration of medications shall be in accordance with established nursing standards, the policies, procedures, and practices of this facility, and the requirements of this state.

    Job Responsibilities

    • Accurately and safely prepare, administer, and document any oral and/or topical medications that are commonly used in this facility and that may be ordered for resident use by the attending physician.
    • Verify that any medications brought into the facility by a newly admitted resident are examined and identified by the attending physician or the facility pharmacy or pharmacist.
    • Follow the labeling policies and practices of the facility.
    • Ensure that all medications administered are properly labeled.
    • Assist with medication charting as directed by the your supervisor
    • Follow facility procedures in regards to charting of medications
    • Ensures staff maintain safe working practices and is knowledgeable of the disaster plan and their specific roles.
    • Extensive work towards fulfilling and maintaining the resident census and making the facility in good shape with cleanliness, resident care, medication, food, activities, and state records.
    • Monitor the facility and residents on a daily basis and at night with cameras to make sure resident care is not compromised.
    • Ensures resident care interventions meet the personal, physical, and cognitive needs of each resident, maximizing his or her own care capacities, identity, independence, choice, and opportunity for social interaction.
    • Ensures good communication with social departments, social workers, and county.
    • Ensures all North Carolina state assisted living rules are followed based on the rulebook and keeps all documentation in order for smooth auditing and state visits.
    • Promotes resident focus by building and maintaining relationships, seeking feedback, and improving customer service.
    • Evaluates resident care, resident satisfaction, and departmental operations.
    • Analyze trends, develop action plans, and implement program objectives to achieve results.
    • Assist team in problem solving for optimum effectiveness and customer satisfaction.
    • Coordinate all programs, services, and activities to ensure compliance with state regulations.
    • Ensure cost-effective operation of all assigned areas through the development of productivity and budget goals measured against established levels of performance.
    • Establish and update facility operating policies and procedures pertaining to operations and resident care.
    • Establish organizational goals and plans. Conduct the quality assurance meeting quarterly.
    • Do the drug count audit on a daily basis before the medtech signs off to make sure that drugs are not being misused.
    • Establish working relationships with residents and families and coordinate family councils.
    • Exhibit sound judgment in decision-making and operational effectiveness in emergency situations.
    • Maintain good communication with managers, employees, residents, family members, volunteers, and community members.
    • Monitor compliance with regulations and standards to promote quality resident care.

    Job Type: Full-time

    Pay: $14.80 - $17.83 per hour

    Schedule:

    • 12 hour shift
    • Monday to Friday
    • Weekends as needed

    Ability to Relocate:

    • Statesville, NC: Relocate before starting work (Required)
