Managed Care Provider Relations Manager develops, manages, and sustains relationship with members of physician network of managed care service providers. Recruits new physicians and manages the credentialing and orientation process. Being a Managed Care Provider Relations Manager serves as a resource for physicians, answering questions and providing information about network procedures or contracts. Monitors provider performance and resolves any issues. Additionally, Managed Care Provider Relations Manager reviews billings and claims payments according to managed care contracts. Job Summary:
Under general supervision, an incumbent of this class is responsible for assisting in administering and directing the overall activities of the Department of Health Information Management (HIM) at MHRH and HAHV. Responsibilities include performing and implementing all administrative tasks in an assigned area and coordinating these activities with other Medical Center divisions to achieve an optimum level of service delivery. This involves familiarity with the total operation of a large hospital network and the functions of its various divisions. Regional Manager of Health Information Management has responsibility for assisting the Network HIM leaders in managing the overall operations of the division. Supervision is exercised over a number of technical and clerical support staff.

Experience:
Three years of experience as stated in (a), two of which must have been in a supervisory or managerial position, and two of which must have been in a tertiary care facility; or (c) a satisfactory equivalent combination of the training and experience as deï¬ned by the limits of (b) which must have included the two years of specialized experience. Thorough knowledge of medical record and computerized patient information systems; good knowledge of the interrelationships between Medical Records and other Medical Center divisions and services and their dependency on an efficient Health Information Management Department; good knowledge of the laws and statutes governing medical records and standards set forth by accrediting organizations and regulatory agencies. Ability to effectively use Microsoft Office Suite computer applications
Education:
Bachelor's degree required in Health Information Management, hospital administration, business or public administration Master's degree preferred in hospital administration, business or public administration
Licenses / Certifications:
Must be certiï¬ed as a Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) (formerly Registered Records Administrator) or Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) (formerly Accredited Record Technician) by the American Health Information Management Association at the time of appointment
