The Business Analyst is a member of one or many Freight Management account(s). The Business Analyst is to provide feedback and support on solutions and systems implementations. The Business Analyst will maintain solutions as it relates to the customer agreement but may recommend system changes to improve efficiency or reduce support. The position has high visibility both internally and externally and will require interaction with senior levels of both organizations. The Business Analyst is responsible for creating/managing Transportation Management business processes, including Business Intelligence reporting, tariff management, visualization dashboards, etc. to ensure that Penske’s solutions are meeting customer requirements. This position maintains solutions as it relates to customer agreements but may recommend system changes to improve efficiency. This role requires cross-functional involvement within Penske Logistics, customers, vendors, suppliers. This requires strong communication skills and the ability to facilitate among various team members to drive solutions and requirements.
Major Responsibilities:
Communicates team expectations including feedback on performance.
Responsible for providing technical assistance and support related to computer system solutions as they pertain to TMS/FM solutions.
Digging into resolutions to problems, root cause analysis
Tariff setup/maintenance in Transportation Management System (Blue Yonder).
Develop/maintain Business Intelligence & Visualization Reporting for internal/external stakeholders.
Develop and distribute weekly customer metrics and develop customer performance reports.
Handle reoccurring analysis/tasks, contributing to the teams cost savings initiatives.
Applies tactical processes daily within the established business rules.
Meet customer deadlines and develop metrics dashboards that highlight customer specific analytics.
Map and document standard operating processes.
Examine current processes and implement or recommend improvements to drive out waste.
Participate in process improvement teams.
Use discretion and independent judgment to answer customer requests and propose solutions.
Interact with customers in resolving problems and coordinating implementations.
Interact with the customer by phone, email or in person on an as needed basis.
Support the design and implementation of a developed supply chain solution.
Work with internal subject matter experts to resolve problems and support implementations.
Other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications:
1 – 3 years comparable work experience, internships, or studies preferred.
Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or other quantitative discipline preferred.
Intermediate understanding of transportation, supply chain and logistics concepts is required.
Demonstrated high level proficiency in using data reporting software (i.e. SAP Business Intelligence, or similar enterprise reporting software) is required.
Demonstrated proficiency in understanding tariff management concepts is required.
Demonstrated proficiency in using data processing and visualization software (i.e. Tableau, Alteryx, etc.) is preferred.
Intermediate/advanced experience with Microsoft Office Suite (specifically Access and Excel) is required. Proficiency with other Microsoft 365 Applications (i.e. Teams, PowerPoint, etc.) is preferred.
Consistently demonstrates proven ability to learn and use necessary tools.
Effective communication skills both oral and written, and with internal and external customers required.
Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job.
Willingness to travel as necessary, work the required schedule, work at the specific location required, complete Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening are required.
