Management Development Manager leads and directs the creation of a leadership development strategy and programs that align with strategic business imperatives and develop management capabilities throughout the workforce. Identifies, designs, and develops frameworks that represent skills and leadership capabilities critical to long-term and short-term objectives. Being a Management Development Manager aligns training, coaching, professional development, and experiential assignments to the leadership development strategy. Develops approaches to engage individuals in well-defined and ongoing career development. Additionally, Management Development Manager define career paths and supporting training and development programs. Fosters a culture of informal knowledge exchange, coaching, and training to engage and develop the workforce. Conducts periodic succession planning and talent assessments to ensure critical roles are defined. Creates slates of individuals identified for leadership development activities. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Management Development Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Management Development Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     As Land Development Manager, your roles and responsibilities include:

    •Assist in the day to day management of land development projects from planning, entitlements all the way through to the completion of infrastructure.

    •Develop project budget estimates, financial obligations, and project schedules.

    •Support acquisition efforts by generating project budgets.

    •Identify, select, procure and manage a highly qualified subcontractor base.

    •Manage contractor bid process including, but not limited to, preparation of RFP packages (scope, conditions, quantity estimates) schedule pre-bid and pre-award meetings, collection and analysis of submitted packages, summarize findings, and make recommendation for project award.

    •Review preliminary plans, construction plans, and associated revisions for value engineering opportunities.

    •Review and analyze proposed contractor change orders.

    •Manage several projects simultaneously and effectively in a fast-paced deadline-driven environment.

    •Develop and maintain project budget and schedule performance reporting tools.

    •Establish relationships with key trade partners; daily interactions with Architects, Engineers, current and potential trade partners.

    •Maintain accurate and updated vendor files, contracts, pricing and bids.


    Candidate Requirements: 

    • A degree in either Construction Management, Civil Engineering or Land Surveying or equivalent work experience.
    • At least 5-10 years of experience in civil engineering, land development, project management and/or entitlement of residential subdivisions.
    • Experience managing consultants and contractors on land development projects from permitting to completion is required.
