Job Description
· Maintain relationships with construction material suppliers and subcontractors, understanding qualifications and general ability to meet company standards
· Create and maintain construction budgets by soliciting, analyzing, and negotiating bids for residential communities and commercial projects
· Ensure vendor contracts are in accordance with plan specifications and company standards
· Issue purchase orders and change orders, and review project invoices to verify accuracy and compliance with contracts
· Communicate pricing changes to company management, the design team and the sales team as appropriate
· Improve project profitability by recommending cost-saving design changes, based on feedback from construction vendors
Qualifications
· 2 years residential construction purchasing experience strongly preferred
· Associate's or Bachelor’s degree in Business or Construction Management preferred
· Ability to read and understand architectural and engineering plans
· Strong communication skills and ability to work well with a variety of people
· Strong PC skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ability to quickly learn other software platforms
