Managing Attorney is responsible for managing the daily operations of a law firm or an organization's legal department. Provides leadership and participates in the most complex legal actions. Being a Managing Attorney directs law office operations, case assignments, and staffing. Oversees the activities and work products of subordinate attorneys. Additionally, Managing Attorney monitors case status, timelines, and issues. Mentors and coaches attorneys and implements staff professional development programs. Requires a JD. Requires State Bar membership. Typically reports to top legal executive. The Managing Attorney manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Managing Attorney typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1-3 years supervisory experience may be required. Compensation: $175,000 /- based upon several factors including book of business
Compensation:$200,000
Responsibilities:- Supervise and mentor our associate attorneys to ensure their goals are achieved by providing coaching
- Oversee law office business operations, communicate and enforce team values, and contribute to strategic business decisions to achieve our overall company goals
- Maintain and develop your client caseload (particularly handling complex cases) to continue your practice as an attorney
- Assist the firm in selecting and developing satellite offices in DuPage County, Northern Cook County, Lake County, and more
- At least 5 years of experience as an attorney in Family Law
- Completed multiple hearings or trials involving child custody and complex family law issues
- Decision-making, public speaking, and supervisory experience are required
- Portable book of business
- Admitted and in good standings with the Illinois Bar
