Managing Attorney is responsible for managing the daily operations of a law firm or an organization's legal department. Provides leadership and participates in the most complex legal actions. Being a Managing Attorney directs law office operations, case assignments, and staffing. Oversees the activities and work products of subordinate attorneys. Additionally, Managing Attorney monitors case status, timelines, and issues. Mentors and coaches attorneys and implements staff professional development programs. Requires a JD. Requires State Bar membership. Typically reports to top legal executive. The Managing Attorney manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Managing Attorney typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1-3 years supervisory experience may be required. Annual Salary - Salary level depends on the experience level of the applicant chosen.
Level I (2273): $60,755.30 Full State Employee Benefits
Level II (2274): $63,793.07 Full State Employee Benefits
Level III (4222): $68,577.56 Full State Employee Benefits
Level IV (4223): $75,435.29 Full State Employee Benefits
Job-related travel is OCCASIONAL. Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain required car insurance.
Preferred Minimum Qualifications
Level I - Active membership in the Oklahoma Bar Association.
Level II - Active membership in the Oklahoma Bar Association and at least one (1) year experience as an attorney in the area of child support, family law, or collection of consumer and private debts.
Level III - Active membership in the Oklahoma Bar Association and two (2) years of experience as an attorney in the area of child support, family law, or collection of consumer and private debts.
Level IV - Active membership in the Oklahoma Bar Association and three (3) years of experience as an attorney in the area of child support, family law, or collection of consumer and private debts with a minimum of one year as a Child Support Services Attorney.
