Managing Attorney is responsible for managing the daily operations of a law firm or an organization's legal department. Provides leadership and participates in the most complex legal actions. Being a Managing Attorney directs law office operations, case assignments, and staffing. Oversees the activities and work products of subordinate attorneys. Additionally, Managing Attorney monitors case status, timelines, and issues. Mentors and coaches attorneys and implements staff professional development programs. Requires a JD. Requires State Bar membership. Typically reports to top legal executive. The Managing Attorney manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Managing Attorney typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1-3 years supervisory experience may be required.     • We are currently seeking a Managing Engineer for our Environmental and Earth Sciences Practice in Maynard, MA. 

      You will be responsible for: 

      • Providing a high level of support to clients and the consultants in the Environmental and Earth Sciences Practice
      • Supporting multidisciplinary project teams on complex, challenging problems
      • Pursuing professional development
      • Conference presentations and journal publications
      • Improving professional visibility
      • Developing client relationships

      Qualifications for this position include:

      • Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering or a related field 
      • 5 – 7 years of related experience (consulting experience a plus)
      • Project management experience including tracking of milestones and deliverables 
      • Strong interest in career and professional development within a dynamic consulting environment
      • Must have strong technical skills as shown by project experience and/or publication record
      • Strong working knowledge of Excel, Word, and PowerPoint required 
      • Excellent communication, organization, and writing skills 
      • Must be detail oriented, able to work independently, and manage time effectively 
      • Strong ability to prioritize multiple projects with competing deadlines 
      • Exposure to sensitive information will necessitate considerable use of tact, diplomacy, discretion, and judgment
