We are looking for a professional with a human services background and experience with matrimonial law and trauma focused practice to work with survivors of domestic violence in matrimonial and eviction cases.
Salary range based on experience: $65,461- $72.000
This is a full-time site-based position.
Responsibilities:
Provide consultation and representation to victims of domestic violence in divorce and eviction cases.
Research and draft legal documents and correspondence.
Work collaboratively with grant staff to collect and complete data reporting as required by funding sources.
Directly oversee a dedicated Paralegal.
Provide legal workshops on various related legal topics as required by funding sources.
Make referrals to community resources as appropriate.
Promote a culture of inclusion and belonging.
Requirements:
Admitted to practice law in New York State. Minimum of two years of matrimonial litigation experience and have worked with victims of domestic violence or other similar population. Other requirements include demonstrated understanding of trauma and a trauma focused practice. Exceptional organizational and analytical skills. Ability to handle multiple matters under pressure and deadlines. Must have strong written and verbal communication skills. Commitment to public service. Must have reliable transportation and a valid New York State Driver License.
