Managing Attorney is responsible for managing the daily operations of a law firm or an organization's legal department. Provides leadership and participates in the most complex legal actions. Being a Managing Attorney directs law office operations, case assignments, and staffing. Oversees the activities and work products of subordinate attorneys. Additionally, Managing Attorney monitors case status, timelines, and issues. Mentors and coaches attorneys and implements staff professional development programs. Requires a JD. Requires State Bar membership. Typically reports to top legal executive. The Managing Attorney manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. This position will work for victims of domestic violence providing legal advice and representation in civil legal matters including but not limited to protection from abuse, custody, divorce and support. The Staff Attorney will have the assistance of the Paralegal. The Staff Attorney will maintain statistics for reporting requirements as needed. Overnight and multiple day travel may be necessary and access to reliable transportation is essential. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Education and Experience:
Current Juris Doctorate (J.D.) and licensed to practice in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Minimum of 3-5 years of litigation experience.
Substantive knowledge of family law.
Must complete PCAR/PCCD/PCADV advocate training within 90 days of employment.
Experience with and passion for the provision of services to victims of domestic violence and sexual assault.
Ability to communicate well both orally and in writing.
