Being a Managing Editor is responsible for publication schedule planning and budget control. Reviews all assignments before publication to ensure material is accurate and compliance with internal and external policies. In addition, Managing Editor requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Managing Editor typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. The Managing Editor role is an integral part of the Pocket-lint organization, reporting directly to the Operations Manager. Valnet operates a website’s segment like an independent business, and the Managing Editor works to ensure that both content and business KPIs are met. The Managing Editor operates their vertical, from the content planning stage all the way through publishing and postmortem, working with editors and writers to publish high-value content on a daily basis. You are also expected to work with the other Leads, alongside the OM and other stakeholders, to ensure the financial health of their vertical by using internal reporting tools and various other methods.
