The Managing Editor manages a group of writers, freelancers, and research assistants. Oversees the design and content of several publications. Being a Managing Editor is responsible for publication schedule planning and budget control. Reviews all assignments before publication to ensure material is accurate and compliance with internal and external policies. In addition, Managing Editor requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Managing Editor typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. Working as a Managing Editor typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience.     Description & Requirements

    How you will contribute:

    • Dedicated time to provide unmatched client service while coordinating work for multiple clients in reviewing, coordinating, and overseeing the following areas:
      • Monthly/quarterly/annual financial statements preparation
      • Account/bank reconciliations and deprecation schedule preparation
      • Balance sheet/Revenue/Expense reconciliations
      • Monthly and year-end closing assistance
      • On-site or virtual accounting outsourcing
      • Assist with training of clients and staff
    • Assist clients with accounting system conversions or upgrades in general ledger systems and conversion by providing professional assistance during and after implementations of software programs and upgrades as follows:
      • General ledger account structure and mapping
      • Mapping with knowledge and understanding of the financial reporting for senior living/LTC providers.
      • Assisting clients with extracting data from current software systems to import into new software programs.
      • Serve as liaison with the client and software data implementation specialists
      • Provide long-term resources to clients on utilizing and optimizing the software after conversion/upgrade
    • Be a resource both internally and externally for providing guidance and instruction on various software reports that can be generated to provide data and reports for cost report preparation as well as reports that will assist auditors in certain attest engagements
    • Assist in onboarding new clients to assist in meeting their financial reporting needs
    • With experience, this role will also encompass gaining additional reimbursement experience and learning the intricacies of the long-term care revenue cycle

    Minimum Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's degree in a related field
    • 5 years or more of accounting experience
