The Managing Editor manages a group of writers, freelancers, and research assistants. Oversees the design and content of several publications. Being a Managing Editor is responsible for publication schedule planning and budget control. Reviews all assignments before publication to ensure material is accurate and compliance with internal and external policies. In addition, Managing Editor requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Managing Editor typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. Working as a Managing Editor typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience.     • We are currently seeking a Managing Engineer for our Environmental and Earth Sciences Practice in Maynard, MA. 

      You will be responsible for: 

      • Providing a high level of support to clients and the consultants in the Environmental and Earth Sciences Practice
      • Supporting multidisciplinary project teams on complex, challenging problems
      • Pursuing professional development
      • Conference presentations and journal publications
      • Improving professional visibility
      • Developing client relationships

      Qualifications for this position include:

      • Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering or a related field 
      • 5 – 7 years of related experience (consulting experience a plus)
      • Project management experience including tracking of milestones and deliverables 
      • Strong interest in career and professional development within a dynamic consulting environment
      • Must have strong technical skills as shown by project experience and/or publication record
      • Strong working knowledge of Excel, Word, and PowerPoint required 
      • Excellent communication, organization, and writing skills 
      • Must be detail oriented, able to work independently, and manage time effectively 
      • Strong ability to prioritize multiple projects with competing deadlines 
      • Exposure to sensitive information will necessitate considerable use of tact, diplomacy, discretion, and judgment
