Chiltern Invadex manufacturers a line of patient lifting equipment and specialized bathing equipment and transfer chairs. Installing the patient lift systems entails connecting a tracking system to the ceiling in client homes, as well as wall to wall support system designs and also free standing track systems. After the tracks are attached to the truss systems in homes or connected to second story floor joist framing; a battery operated hoist or lift motor is placed in the tracking system which is utilized when picking up the disabled client in a patient sling, and then transferred to a different location in the home such as the bath tub or into a wheel chair etc. The prime responsibility of the Field Lead Man is to install this tracking system with a helper assisting. The Lead Man position is pro-active in the install and performs all the related tasks and makes all the needed decisions to properly and safely install the lift system in the home while protecting the liability of the employer. Due to these risk factors related to the lead man’s responsibility, it becomes very important that the lead man be very detailed oriented and double check all the facts as the install progresses. It is also very important that the lead man possess a good understanding of residential construction methods and understand structural point loading issues in general. The actual install process is fairly simple and does not require an engineering degree by the lead man to be successful; however the individual must have an elevated level of mechanical common sense to be properly trained and to properly manage the related liability issues. The training period will be relatively short with the right individual.

    This is not a supervisor position, but rather is a hands’ on, installer position that carries a lot of responsibility with the position.

    The candidate will also be trained as a service tech. on the lift equipment to also be utilized in the service end of our business. Having over 1000 completed installs in Ohio in the last 15 years has created a regular flow of service requests for lift motor repair.

    The candidate will be required to handle 50-60 lbs. of weight over-head to remove and place lift motors in the track while standing on the first or second step of a 4’ ladder used in the installs and service calls. The lift motors are DC Motor / transmission drives powered by a 24 volt battery system, with PCB boards, and a series of limit switches. Prior experience working with these type components is not necessary but is very helpful; but more importantly, being detailed oriented and focused and willing to always double check results is the main key to success in the daily job routine.

    *** The candidate must pass a BCI background check, drug screen, be a resident in Ohio for at least 5 years, Be current with IRS tax filings, possess a valid Ohio Driver’s license, be covered with car insurance. These are all requirements as set down by our contract with our funding sources to be a Medicaid Provider and be allowed to enter client homes that are enrolled in Medicaid Funded programs in Ohio.– All these conditions must be met – No Exceptions. There are also additional conditions that must be met which are included in a supplemental document forwarded to you during the screening process if you elect to apply for this position. The Medicaid Funding Source we contract with has several provider conditions that apply to all persons who enter the home of a client enrolled in a Medicaid Program. These conditions are rigidly maintained at all times.

    Coming in, the position pays above avg. wages, and after released from training and working independently as a successful lead man where you are making all the related decisions alone and managing a helper at the same time, the pay scale will increase to 70-75K per year and possibly more based on the total amount of responsibilities the individual can successfully control. After 60-75 days training, it will become clear if the individual shows promise. It is best to look at the total income package rather than hours worked, but the max., may be attained within 40 hours or less per week. The first 90 days is considered probationary and a decision to offer the applicant a secure position should be made within the first 90 days or less.
