Manufacturing Director jobs in Dayton, OH
Manufacturing Director oversees manufacturing operations and the production management and supervisory teams for a plant or unit. Incorporates organization-wide operational safety, regulatory compliance, quality assurance, and cost control policies and programs into manufacturing processes. Being a Manufacturing Director monitors production metrics, responds to and resolves problems, and recommends process improvements, new technologies, and methods to maximize operational efficiency. Collaborates with leaders to manage and resolve workforce or labor issues and develop long-term solutions. Additionally, Manufacturing Director implements long-term plans for facilities, equipment, materials, technology, and workforce resources to maintain manufacturing capacity and processes that support business goals. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Manufacturing Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Manufacturing Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. Hours:
40 hours per week, Monday through Thursday -
Monday - Thursday: 6:00am - 4:30pm
Friday as needed
Weekend OT is sometimes available, but never mandatory!

General Description of Duties:
Setup and operate CNC lathes, dry-run new programs, and inspect parts in accordance with customer prints and specifications
Requirements
Essential Functions:
- Ability to read and interpret customer prints and specs
- Setup and operate CNC lathes utilizing live tooling
- Working dimensions up to 24" in diameter and 125" in length
- Make offsets and perform light program editing
- Follow company provided work orders and instructions
- Measure parts with basic equipment, such as micrometers, dial calipers, thread gages, and verniers
- All other duties as assigned by management
