Manufacturing Director oversees manufacturing operations and the production management and supervisory teams for a plant or unit. Incorporates organization-wide operational safety, regulatory compliance, quality assurance, and cost control policies and programs into manufacturing processes. Being a Manufacturing Director monitors production metrics, responds to and resolves problems, and recommends process improvements, new technologies, and methods to maximize operational efficiency. Collaborates with leaders to manage and resolve workforce or labor issues and develop long-term solutions. Additionally, Manufacturing Director implements long-term plans for facilities, equipment, materials, technology, and workforce resources to maintain manufacturing capacity and processes that support business goals. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Manufacturing Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Manufacturing Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.     • Determine factory layout improvements for efficiency and participate in new upcoming products development. Dazzle plant touring customers with our team members’ cleanliness, honesty, knowledge, and culture.
    • Participation on the Leadership Team. Shepherd the direction of the company in achieving overall results.
    • Provide Executive level leadership and hands on project management to expanding our manufacturing facilities.
    • Build a safety culture that drives safety performance to the level of Excellence, not average.
    • Ability to work in and around chemicals; including but not limited to latex, biocides like Prevental D and Tinuvin 292, Lipase, and Fungicides. Some chemical reactions may happen.

    Supervisory Duties

    • Direct Reports: Factory Central Managers
    • Supervisory Duties: Developing an effective team that directly supervises all team members in the Factory. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training team members; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining team members; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
    • Four-year college degree or equivalent experience in Business or Manufacturing.
    • Minimum of 8 years of experience in a progressively more responsible, including 4 years’ experience at Director level or higher
    • Technical training or practical experience in leading and executing continuous improvement strategies.

    Work Environment

    • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving high speed machinery and mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions. machine oils, metal fillings, acetone, paints, solvents, grease, cutting fluids, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risk of electrical shock or vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
