Manufacturing Director oversees manufacturing operations and the production management and supervisory teams for a plant or unit. Incorporates organization-wide operational safety, regulatory compliance, quality assurance, and cost control policies and programs into manufacturing processes. Being a Manufacturing Director monitors production metrics, responds to and resolves problems, and recommends process improvements, new technologies, and methods to maximize operational efficiency. Collaborates with leaders to manage and resolve workforce or labor issues and develop long-term solutions. Additionally, Manufacturing Director implements long-term plans for facilities, equipment, materials, technology, and workforce resources to maintain manufacturing capacity and processes that support business goals. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Manufacturing Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Primary Responsibilities
· Manage all documents related to Productivity, Quality, Efficiency, and equipment for use on a daily basis.
· Manage associates in a safe environment and comply with all safety regulations concerning equipment.
· Manage the overall 5S
· Promote the highest safety, quality, and productivity standards
· Manage, maintain, and develop subordinate’s efficiencies and understanding
Essential Functions
· Management of safety, quality, and productivity. Make improvements as needed.
· Communicate any process changes, quality alerts, or information needed for associates to do the job with the highest quality and efficiency.
· Manage overtime to ensure that production is run according to schedule; manage headcount to ensure that production is met
· Complete and report documentation related to safety, quality, productivity, training, and associates.
· Train properly and develop people
· Perform performance evaluations as needed
· Train and develop team leaders to serve a Group Leader back-up
· Serve as team leader back up
· Handle countermeasures associated with QPRs
· Maintain inventory and shipping; prevent short shipments
· Understand and follow the Kanban system
· Assist line support

Qualifications
· 3-5 years of manufacturing leadership experience
· Knowledge of the Kanban system
· Proficient in Microsoft applications
· Excellent people skills-communication, training, development
· Valid driver’s license
· Ability to operate a forklift
· Ability to read
Physical Requirement
· Ability to lift 50 lbs
· Ability to distinguish colors and hear sounds
· Ability to walk, stoop, carry materials, and stand on concrete for at least 8 hours
