Manufacturing Director oversees manufacturing operations and the production management and supervisory teams for a plant or unit. Incorporates organization-wide operational safety, regulatory compliance, quality assurance, and cost control policies and programs into manufacturing processes. Being a Manufacturing Director monitors production metrics, responds to and resolves problems, and recommends process improvements, new technologies, and methods to maximize operational efficiency. Collaborates with leaders to manage and resolve workforce or labor issues and develop long-term solutions. Additionally, Manufacturing Director implements long-term plans for facilities, equipment, materials, technology, and workforce resources to maintain manufacturing capacity and processes that support business goals. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Manufacturing Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget.     In this role, you will develop and execute talent strategies in partnership with other HR partners, Business Partners and COEs to enable a culture of inclusion and deploy organizational effectiveness tools that attract reward, engage, retain, and develop our diverse talent base.

    This role will support New Hampshire Manufacturing, Facilities and SHE and report directly to the Senior Director, HR- Operations & Central Functions. This position is an on-site role and is based in New Hampshire.

    Primary Responsibilities:
    • Create and execute an agile people strategy across New Hampshire manufacturing, SHE and Facilities with leadership that advances critical business priorities and supports the attraction, development and retention of our talent – while embracing the future of work. Quantify business results via metrics review.
    • Leverage process improvement/lean manufacturing tools and methodology to align with business needs.
    • Collaborate with the broader HR network (i.e. Employee & Labor Relations, Talent Acquisition, Talent Management) to develop and deploy strategies that address factory/operations needs.
    • Build and execute a Diversity, Equity and Inclusion plan to drive tangible improvements in diverse representation. Integrate DEI principles and practices into business goals, talent development strategies. Promote a strong culture of inclusion across the organization. Orchestrate key talent movement with an aim towards building diverse teams and robust succession.
    • Partner with leaders to evaluate the effectiveness of their teams and their organizational design. Facilitate workshops to re-evaluate existing structures, where needed. Lead change management efforts and new leader onboarding/assimilation activities, as required.
    • Counsel/coach functional leaders on matters concerning development of their organization to enhance effectiveness and potential. Connect leaders to the right resources to support their own development and the development/effectiveness of their teams.
    • Serve as a member of the Operations and Central Functions HR team, actively partnering with other team members to drive innovative, strategic, and consistent people strategies across all of Electronic Systems.


    Required Education, Experience, & Skills
    Basic Qualifications:
    • Bachelor’s Degree and 12 years of relevant experience OR Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 10 years of relevant experience OR in absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience is required.
    • Must be willing to travel up to 30%.
    • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future. BAE Systems, Inc. will not offer sponsorship for this position.
    • Experience working in a manufacturing/operations environment.
    • Experience working in a matrixed environment.
    • Ability to build relationships and influence


    Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
    Preferred Qualifications:
    • Experience in an HR Business Partner role supporting an organization of at least $500M in annual sales.
    • Proven experience serving as a coach to senior leaders for their organization on HR matters relating to organizational strategies and business imperatives.
    • Business acumen, be innovative, adapt well to change and work collaboratively with strategic influence to drive initiatives across a matrixed environment.
    • Deep knowledge of HR fundamentals (talent acquisition, total rewards, performance management, employee relations, diversity, equity and inclusion, organizational change, learning and development, and organization effectiveness).
    • Ability to develop and present senior level leaders with data-driven solutions that will effectively advance business strategies and drive change throughout their organizations.
    • Project management and prioritization skills with proven attention to detail.
    • Analytical skills to draw appropriate conclusions from data, anticipating second and third order of effects when making recommendations.


    Pay Information
    Full-Time Salary Range: $128100 - $217800

    Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
