We have an immediate opening for a Director of Manufacturing at leading company conveniently located in Philadelphia. This is a full time direct hire opportunity.

Job Duties Include:

• Manages all production activities for a three-shift operation. Manages union and temporary labor workforce.
• Writes and manages production and production schedules.
• Writes and maintains work orders.
• Provides material requirements, with production timing, to purchasing department.
• Reviews, analyzes and recommends cost savings initiatives as part of yearly budget. o Develops and maintains the production budget.
• Tracks against key performance indicators.
• Provides feedback to direct reports on performance. o Reports KPI performance to management.
• Implements actions to increase performance.
• Manages maintenance staff and establishes preventative maintenance schedules.
• Essential Job Duties
• Provides input and guidance on NPD activities.
• Reviews and approves packaging structural designs, etc.
• Assist with BOM development.
• Safety – Ensures a safe work environment for all employees. Makes recommendations and implements safety initiatives.
• Quality – Works closely with the QA department to ensure compliance with all corporate quality standards and GMP’s. Coordinates with QA department for continuous training. Implements QA department’s corrective actions as needed.
• Actively participate in the strategic planning process.

Job Requirements Include:

• Experience leading and motivating a large team of associates consisting of shift managers, line supervisors, production associates, and outside resources.
• Ability to manage a union and temporary labor force.
• Effective communication skills to motivate, inform and collaborate with all parts of the organization includingproduction staff, Sales, Marketing, and senior management.
• Effective problem-solving skills with the ability to define problems, gather facts, draw valid conclusions, andeffectively communicate senior management where needed.
• Knowledge and experience in food manufacturing operations, practices, and technical methodologies includingTPM, Lean Manufacturing, SQF, Food/Drug GMP's, etc.
• Experience with enterprise software.
• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Industrial/Mechanical Engineering, or Business is required.
• 7 years of experience in a food production environment

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $150,000.00 - $175,000.00 per year
