Shields is experiencing growth moving forward into 2024 and we have an immediate opportunity CNC Lathe Machinists. These team members will carry out a variety of tasks in a fast-paced, schedule-driven environment.

Schedule:

M-Th 6am-430pm

M-Th 330pm - 2am

CNC Lathe Machinist (Levels 1-3) - CNC Lathe Machinist

• Ability to read and understand drawings
• Starts and observes machine operation
• Calculates and set controls to regulate machining factors
• Process offset changes unassisted
• Check parts using micrometers, calipers, and other measuring devices.
• Verify conformance of completed work
• Working on lathes such as Mori Seiki (NLX2500, NLX3000, NLX4000, NZX2000), Hitachi Seiki, Nakamura Tome, Haas TL-2, Manual Lathe.

Requirements:

• Extensive machine shop/metal working skills
• Possesses the ability to work with decimals
• Comfortable working with close tolerances (thousandths)
• Ability to set up your own jobs and run first part
• Ability to adjust programs if required
