Manufacturing Director oversees manufacturing operations and the production management and supervisory teams for a plant or unit. Incorporates organization-wide operational safety, regulatory compliance, quality assurance, and cost control policies and programs into manufacturing processes. Being a Manufacturing Director monitors production metrics, responds to and resolves problems, and recommends process improvements, new technologies, and methods to maximize operational efficiency. Collaborates with leaders to manage and resolve workforce or labor issues and develop long-term solutions. Additionally, Manufacturing Director implements long-term plans for facilities, equipment, materials, technology, and workforce resources to maintain manufacturing capacity and processes that support business goals. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Manufacturing Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Manufacturing Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.     POSITION SUMMARY

    The Production Control Supervisor role serves many customers and stakeholders and is accountable for the supervision of the Production Control Department. To do so they are responsible for creating and ensuring compliance with the Master Production Schedule in line with the Sales, Inventory, and Operating Plan (SIOP), providing guidance to the Buyer/Planners to maintain optimal inventory levels, and serves as the voice of Operations regarding what is being built, when in interactions with Customer Service. The candidate will ensure that the department goals are met and leads improvement actions when they are not.

    • Supervision of department
    • Analyzes capacity requirements (assembly & machining) needed to support customer demand based upon SIOP decisions to maximize operational & material effectivity while maintaining the expected level of customer service satisfaction and not exceeding the target set for inventory value
    • Measures & reviews forecast accuracy data
    • Load forecast, update, & maintain aggregation records as required in LN
    • Develops and implements measures and process changes focused at increasing capacity and reducing overall finished good lead times
    • Manages supply chain of material to ensure efficient flow of material to support the customer’s needs.
    • Monitors exception messages and maintain system integrity through supply and demand management
    • Provides high level of oversight regarding various purchasing and planning determinations/issues impacting schedule adherence. Generates resolution to these same problems
    • Leads multiple projects simultaneously, following product development/delivery processes
    • Prepares, evaluates and makes recommendations involving total cost of ownership data related to cost savings projects
    • Responds to all internal customer’s requests in a timely manner
    • Leads in lean process improvements and problem-solving activities to better satisfy customer needs

    SKILLS & ABILITIES

    Education:

    Bachelor's Degree (four-year college or technical school): Required, Field of Study: Business or Logistics: Preferred

    Experience:

    A minimum of 8 years Inventory/Planning work experience with increasing responsibility: Required
    Thorough understanding and practical application ability in Statistical Methods: Required

    Computer Skills:

    Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite: Required
    Experience with ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) SAP: Preferred

    Certifications & Licenses:

    Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) certification or Certified Production and Inventory Management (CPIM): Preferred
    Valid driver’s license must be maintained throughout employment that meets Busch insurance standard

    Other Requirements: May be required to travel domestically and internationally with some overnight stays.
