Manufacturing Director oversees manufacturing operations and the production management and supervisory teams for a plant or unit. Incorporates organization-wide operational safety, regulatory compliance, quality assurance, and cost control policies and programs into manufacturing processes. Being a Manufacturing Director monitors production metrics, responds to and resolves problems, and recommends process improvements, new technologies, and methods to maximize operational efficiency. Sims Manufacturing is now accepting applications for an individual with experience as a Purchasing Agent and as an Inventory Control Clerk. Job responsibilities will include (but are not limited to) creating and/or updating complex bill of materials and implementation of inventory and purchasing systems. Strong communications skills and familiarity with computer-based inventory are essential.
Provide support to the manufacturing operation as well as the shipping and receiving operations by maintaining accurate record of on-premises materials/inventory and assisting in overall warehouse organization.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Help stock all inventory into an assigned location.
· Conduct yearly physical inventory
· Help manage bill of materials of various types of machines.
· Maintain inventory value and location integrity by ensuring all materials are put in their proper locations.
· Respond to personnel regarding stock inquiries.
· Perform cycle counts and be proactive with inventory reconciliation and document those results.
· Investigation of inventory discrepancies, including problem solving for serious and repetitive issues. Recommend and develop ideas for process improvement regarding inventory management.
· Clean and organize the hardware room, maintain a clean environment throughout the facility.
· Demonstrate strong commitment to safety, quality, environmental awareness, and continuous process improvement.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
· High school diploma and one to three years related work experience.
· One to three years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.
· One to three years’ experience with inventory control, cycle counts, vendor management
· Excellent communication skills both written and oral.
CRITICAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
· Demonstrated organizational skills, strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task.
· Ability to work with limited supervision.
· Able to lift up to 75 pounds.
· Excellent problem-solving abilities.
