Manufacturing Engineer assists in planning and designing manufacturing processes for a production facility. Maximizes efficiency by analyzing layout of equipment, workflow, assembly methods, and work force utilization. Being a Manufacturing Engineer determines the parts, equipment, and tools needed in order to achieve manufacturing goals according to product specifications. Requires a bachelor's degree of engineering. Additionally, Manufacturing Engineer typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Manufacturing Engineer works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. Work is closely managed. The Manufacturing Engineer, under minimal supervision, determines the best manufacturing methods and processes for our products, including equipment, tooling, materials and facilities. Develop plant layout, design and workflow processes. Introduce automation into the assembly process. Develop and implement work instructions to standardize work procedures. Recommend procedures that will result in cost savings, quality improvement and maximization of production, using kaizen and value stream principles.
